1. Controller and contact
The entity responsible for the processing of personal information described in this Privacy Policy is Alboriquessavine Fishing Club Inc., located at 1450 Marine Drive, North Vancouver, BC V7P 1T8, Canada. Privacy questions may be sent to info@alboriquessavine.com or raised by phone at +1 604 555 0186.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, disclosed, stored, and protected when you use this website, contact the club, request membership information, participate in club administration, or communicate with us about programs and events.
It does not govern independent websites, services, or organizations that we do not operate. If a club activity requires interaction with a third-party venue, permit issuer, transport provider, or other independent organization, that organization may have its own privacy practices.
3. Information we may handle
Information you provide directly
Depending on your interaction with the club, this may include your name, email address, phone number, general location, membership interest, fishing experience, preferred activities, messages, participation preferences, and other information you choose to include in an inquiry.
Membership and participation records
If you become a member or register for an organized activity, we may keep administrative records relating to membership status, registration history, payment status, attendance, equipment loans, volunteer roles, and communications needed to organize club activities.
Technical information
Basic server or security logs may contain information such as date and time of access, requested page, browser or device characteristics, and network information. We do not use this site to build advertising profiles.
Information we ask you not to submit
Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not necessary for a club inquiry. If additional information is genuinely required for a specific activity, we will request only what is reasonably necessary and explain the purpose.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We may process personal information to respond to inquiries, administer membership, organize activities, communicate schedule changes, manage equipment loans, maintain appropriate club records, protect the website and club systems, comply with legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims where necessary.
Where the GDPR applies, processing may rely on one or more legal bases: taking steps at your request before entering an arrangement, performing an arrangement with you, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights, or consent where consent is the appropriate basis. Where Canadian consent requirements apply, consent may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations of the individual.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for unrelated targeted advertising.
6. International transfers
Our club is based in Canada. Some service providers may process information in another province or country. If personal information subject to the GDPR is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we will use an available transfer mechanism where required, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards, or another lawful basis.
Information processed outside your home jurisdiction may be subject to lawful access rules in the jurisdiction where it is stored or processed.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain required business or membership records, to resolve disputes, and to comply with applicable legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type.
General inquiries that do not lead to membership or participation may be deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed. Membership, financial, incident, or legal records may need to be retained longer. When information is no longer required, we aim to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, object to certain processing, request deletion or restriction in applicable circumstances, request portability of certain information, and receive information about how your data is handled.
Rights are not absolute. A request may be limited by legal obligations, the rights of other individuals, security concerns, legal privilege, or another lawful exception. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
To make a request, contact info@alboriquessavine.com with enough detail for us to understand the request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Measures are selected according to the nature of the information, the context of processing, and reasonably foreseeable risks.
No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a breach that triggers notification or reporting duties, we will follow applicable legal requirements.
10. Children and family participation
Some club activities may be suitable for youth when arranged through a parent or legal guardian and when the activity description permits youth participation. We do not intend the general website inquiry process to solicit personal information directly from a child without appropriate adult involvement.
Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization may contact us so we can review the situation and take suitable action.
12. Changes, questions, and complaints
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in club operations, legal requirements, or website functionality. The current version will be identified by the “Last updated” date.
Questions or complaints should first be directed to info@alboriquessavine.com. You may also have the right to complain to an applicable privacy regulator, including a Canadian privacy authority or, where the GDPR applies, a supervisory authority in the relevant European jurisdiction.
